Keeping healthy at work
- Take regular short breaks away from your desk to help with any back, neck or eye strains that may occur
- Your computer screen should be set so that the top of the monitor is level with your eyes. Adjusting your chair and display will make it more comfortable for your neck and upper body.
- Ensure you are lifting properly and with help if it is not safe. Always keep whatever you are lifting as close to your body as possible. Your knees should be bent to make your legs do the work. Keep your feet and back straight avoiding any twisting and turning.
- Ensure you are in a comfortable position when driving. Taking regular breaks when driving longer distances. We would recommend stopping at least once every two hours.
"They have kept me and my bad back in work and mobile for over 25 years. Without Angela I would not be able to work or walk some days! Thanks Angela and all the clinic."

How can your Osteopath help?
We are highly trained, healthcare professionals, experts in the musculoskeletal system (joints, muscles and associated tissues) and its relationship to other systems of the body. Osteopathic care is based on the individual needs of the patient and so varies depending on your age, fitness levels and diagnosis. We can provide you with an off work certificate if you do need to take time off from work. You can discuss with your osteopath the impact work may have on your body and agree on an appropriate course of action that may help. Along with hands-on osteopathic treatment, we can offer advice on posture, lifting and workplace ergonomics.
